The Facilitator

Our concept is based on a belief in the innovative potential of individuals. The key to this approach is the use of an "enterprise facilitator" who is hired to help unlock the ideas and dreams of the local entrepreneurs. The facilitator seeks to provide individuals with the technical assistance they need in order to turn their business ideas and dreams into reality.

This may mean advising people on ways of:

 

Cutting through red tape.

 

Gaining expertise in writing a business plan.

 

Tracking down seed capital.

 

Putting the entrepreneur in contact with potential market

contacts.

What is different about this approach is the close, one-to-one attention given each and every individual who seeks out the facilitator's assistance. All too often, good ideas with great potential die before they have a chance to blossom.

Vince Robinson, the current facilitator for LCEDC, has said that many people have excellent ideas which they know will work, but they get discouraged for one reason or another and their ideas fall by the wayside.

"I try to explain how the business world works and keep a positive 'you can do it' attitude with the clients. Our goal is to put things in place and make things happen," Robinson says. "We work together to get things done."
